Week 7 Writing

Sheet Hut

Surrounded in cotton, the layer encapsulates me. Thinning, the air by the hard to breathe because of miniature holes that wouldn't even let a tiny ant through! Suffocating me, the air is so thin that  a rapidly gasp for air from the outside. Delicately, the cotton walls are disturbed by the uttermost movement. Peering out, the sight is complexly different from it's normal form. Sending shivers, my body feels at major fault of order. Structurally, the sheet is propped up by a table with nothing to weigh it down. Smudged, the grim writing and marks of crayons set a grim scene of relaxation. Finally... I am free from the grim horrid prison.

The Dingy Incident

On the weekend at my school some idiot decided to haul a dingy up the 3rd syndicate toilet. This person/people caused a big reaction. The dingy was from syndicate 2 and was for inquiry, to inspire. On 18th of March the school took it down. Here are some pictures.

The Hangi (Recount)

Quickly Auahi* flooded, the massive white cloud erupted out of an old rusted black barrel. Bright colorful vegetables, kumara, riwa*, paukena* and kapeti* had developed a smoky crisp coating, to hide it's ancestry. Anxiously, wahie* and tangata*quickly rushed between places, maintaining the meal. Blasting down, the sun and the meal melted me and also left me sweating. Trembling, my stomach begged for the food like a starving caged animal. Drifting away, the auahi* left a terrible stench.

(Auahi)=Smoke
(Riwi)=Potato
(Paukena)=Pumpkin
(Kapeti)=Cabbage
(Tagata)=Man
(Wahine)=Women

Class Trip

Our Trip To The Courier And The Space Centre

On the 3rd March our class went on a class trip. My favorite part of this trip was the space center, we went to the space centre to see Dave for media teaching and his expertise were wide and taught us about camera shots, he let us use his camera for demonstrating.

We learnt on this trip:
  • The different camera shots and lighting, that will prove useful in media
  • How to work in a deadline and also some of our town's history
Dave from the space centre has a great website here where I can learn more.
